A Summer Weekend

We had such a wonderful weekend!! The beautiful weather probably had a lot to do with it, but it was incredible none the less.

Saturday morning we went out for our normal “breakfast date” to Starbucks. We sat outside in the sun enjoying a slow start to our day. We decided to go for a nice walk before it got too hot out. After the walk the weather had warmed up enough for a nice afternoon in the sun. We went and laid by the pool in our apartment complex. I didn’t think we would be out there for too long, so I passed on the sunscreen. Bad idea. I was fried by the end of our two hour sun bathing season. The pool was cool and refreshing. It was perfect. There weren’t too many kids or people so we were able to fully enjoy ourselves. That afternoon we went to Ryan’s cousins wedding. IT was outside so we got to enjoy the sun even more!! The reception was lovely and a great end to our long day!

Sunday started off on a good note. We took Ryan’s mom out for breakfast for her birthday. We were joined by Ryan’s sister, her husband and the world’s cutest one year old girl! We had a wonderful time and Hadlie was so much fun to watch! She has grown up so fast! We ended up not making it to church yesterday, instead we cleaned house… a lot. We had some friends over for a BBQ and our own home wine tasting. I gave Ryan his birthday gift early, a red and a white wine aerator. They are the greatest gadget ever! Instead of decanting your wine for hours, you just pour it in the aerator and it adds air instantly. We all had a great time trying it out and tasting different wines that we had. We ate some yummy food grilled up by my hubby, master BBQer. And played Apples to Apples. The night was so wonderful and a perfect summer evening.

I could not have asked for a better weekend. It was so wonderful to soak up the sun, spend time with family and friends, and mostly get some good quality time with Ryan. Ahh, is it Friday yet?
